Happy Thursday. This is Stock Market Today for Apr. 30, 2026. After four Big Tech reports after hours yesterday, stocks are set for a stronger open today. Follow here for updates throughout the market day:





























Apple is set to report earnings after the market shuts in just a few minutes, joined by drug company AMGEN, computer storage companies Sandisk and Western Digital, and others. Here's a look at the full cast of after hour earnings to follow:















Don't be mistaken by the performance at the very top of the market. Today is as green a day as they come, and it's not just tech companies making it happen. In fact, the further down you get, the better it looks like it's going to be for you.

Over 70% of U.S. issues are advancing now, with the Russell 2000 now up more than 2% on the day. The Dow (+1.74%), S&P 500(+1.08%), and Nasdaq (+0.95%) are also at day highs. For the latter two indexes, that's new intraday highs.

Here's how the market is looking, sorted by market cap:

Google parent Alphabet is now up 10% intraday, good for its best performance since last April.

The strength in the tech giant is helping to make up for steep declines from Meta (-8%), Microsoft (-4%), and Nvidia (-3%), among others. But even then, the tech sector of the S&P 500 is facing declines today, the corner of the index which is ailing.







More than midway through the trading day, all four major U.S. equity benchmarks have continued to advance. Here are the top and bottom 20 stocks in the market with at least a $2 billion market cap:

Despite a so-so start to the day, the S&P 500 (+0.40%) is finally turning things around. Its brief stay in the red has come undone, with the index now joining the Dow (+1.08%) in advances.
